Sticks and Stones [Casey's Farm House:: Northampton:: June 1st]

Post by Lexi on Tue Apr 17, 2012 6:02 pm

It had been a long road to recovery, but Lexi was lucky to be among the living. She had almost died that night, seven months ago. Not only had she lost a significant amount of blood, but the throwing star had been tipped in poison. She had spent nearly a month in ICU, suffering from the neurological effects of the normally fatal drug. Fortunately she had recovered with no lasting effects, though, the physical and mental scars wouldn't be so quick to fade. Her arm still bore the three long scars that looked like a wild animal attack, but she planned to have lazar surgery to reduce their appearance. The throwing star had also left a permanent mark, though, not as noticeable as her arm.

Lexi had dealt with a lot of guilt after finding out what had happened to Remey. The man had placed his life on the line for her, and almost paid the ultimate price. Thankfully he pulled through, but like her, his recovery time had been extensive. She was just glad that he would live to be there for his little girl and unborn child, and of course, Marley. The poor girl had nearly grieved herself to death while Remey was in ICU, and refused to leave his side.

Casey had been kind enough to allow them to stay at his farm house in Northampton until things blew over, and everyone healed. It was a nice change of pace, and while Lexi was used to the posh life, she was enjoying the solitude and privacy the place provided. She didn't have to worry about the prying eyes of the media, or more importantly...Bishop. It also gave her great comfort to have Remey, Laz, Gabe, and their girls staying there with them. After what had happened back at the tower, she was fearful that Shredder would search Remey and Laz out to finish them off. The thought of losing one of them was suffocating.

Phoenix was now one year old, and just learning how to walk. He seemed to be more aware of himself, and sadly, his inability to produce sound, which often upset him. Lexi had been working with Donnie to come up with a custom sign language to start teaching the kid so he would be able to communicate. It was hard, but with Don's intelligence and her persistence, she was certain that they would come up with signs that his little three-fingered hands could produce.

It was the beginning of a new day, and the sounds of an annoying rooster filtered through the large farm house. The nearest house was a few miles away... the Hatchett farm, but their chickens and roosters often strayed onto their property. Not that Lexi minded, but Jigs found great sport in chasing the clumsy birds, and today would be no different. Lexi rolled her eyes as she watched the dog from her spot on the front porch swing. Phoenix was curled up in her lap, sucking on his thumb as he fought sleep. Though, the rooster's fearful 'death cry' was enough to jolt him fully awake. Jigs hadn't caught the bird--he knew better, but was giving it a good work out.

So much for peace and quiet... She thought to herself, hoping that the rooster would get some smarts about him and run home instead of zig-zagging in the yard.

Remey's recovery was a long painful one. Seven moths ago he was stabbed thro the back with Shredder's sword, and there were time when the doctors didn't think he would make it, and worse, times when they feared he wouldn't walk again.

He spent weeks in the ICU, and even more weeks in his hospital room, trying to walk. The sword had done injury to his spine forcing him to have to use a cane to walk. He hated it, but was thankful to be alive.

He felt bad that Marley had been under so much stress because of him, and promised her that he would never return to the tower, or deal with the foot. A promise that he was dead set on keeping no matter what.

Casey allowed them to stay at his farm house. It was cozy there, and secluded which Remey enjoyed. He didn't have to worry about the foot or Bishop coming after them and he could recover in peace.

Belle still wasn't over what had happen. She had almost lost her daddy and it tramatized the poor girl. Now she was hardly ever away from Remey's side, and was suffering from nightmares.

Remey did his best to convince her that he was ok and that everything was going to be alright, but still she clung to his side.

Remey was outside with Belle, picking flowers and decorating the little girl's hair with them. He let her put some flowers in his hair and chuckled at how serious the little girl was with her placement of the flowers.

"Why don't we decorate mommy's hair." He sudgested. The little girl agreed and picked some flowers then set out to look for Marley.

The past few months had their ups and downs for Laz. His best friend almost lost his life and almost lost his ablity to walk. Lexi almost lost her life. It was an emotional time for Laz, but through it all Aeris was always there. Her and Ivy were the glue that kept him together.

Over the months Aeris and him grew closer together. He fell in love with the woman and couldn't see himself without her.

When Lexi and Remey finally got out the hospital, they all went to Casey's farm house. It was a nice, quiet little place. Peaceful just what they needed.

Laz had gotten a job as a bartender at night, it didn't make much money, but enough that he was able to buy what ivy and Aeris needed, and be able to put some on the side for an apartment.

Now that he had the job and everyone was safe at home, he was able to relax and enjoy his time spent with love ones. And like Remey, Laz promised not to go back to the tower.

Now Laz was outside with Ivy watching her chase one of the chickens. "Don't run too far away now, Ivy" he warned her. Poor chickens he thought, when would they learn.

April's recovery was agonizing. Shredder had kidnapped her before, he had done things to her before. But this was the worse. Never had Shredder disfigure her like this. It had been seven months and April was still recovering.

The acid had left horrible scars on her skin. She was self conscious about them and stood covered up. Her time in the hospital had been horribly painful and there were times when she just wanted to die.

Casey was always by her side, she didn't think that she would have made it without him. He was her rock.

When April finally got out the hospital, she kept herself drugged up on pain pills. She stood inside all day, curled up on the couch in a drugged daze.

    That was seven months ago.

Now April's pain was bareable. She took less pills and was more functional. She now spent her time cooking in the kitchen for everyone. Enjoying baking pies and cupcakes with Serenity.

That's what she was doing now. Staying inside on this beautiful day, making treats for everyone. blueberry cupcakes. She hoped that everyone liked them, she had came up with the recipe herself.

Seren was beside her helping her out.

Seven months ago, Mondo would have never thought he would be siting at a farm house, enjoying a joint and hanging with his new friends. Before he was starting to think that the turtles were just a lie that Bishop made up.

But after running into Mikko and Ryan...Well after they ran into him. Things started to quickly fall together.

As promised, Mikko called the turtles but they had been having their own issues. So Mondo stood with Ryan and Mikko for a while till things with the turtles calmed down.

Mikko aventually called the turtles again and this time they met up with the lizard. He was over joyed to meet them and tols them about what had happen to him. They invited him back to the farm house and he happily went with them.

He still kept in touch with his new human friends tho, and offten bought weed of of Mikko.

The months passed on uneventful for Mondo and now he sat under a shady tree at the farm house. smoking a joint and strumming a guitar.

Splinter had spent the past seven months recovering from the shot he took to the chest. At first it seemed the the old rat wouldn't pull through. That he would never wake up. But he did. Waking up in pain and feeling sick.

He spent two months after waking, laying in bed. He couldn't keep food down and was very weak. It wasn't looking good. But he finally found the energy to fource himself out of bed. He started by just walking slowly around his room. Then finally emerging from his bedroom to walk to the kitchen to eat.

He lived off of soup and bread for the longest time. HIs recovery was very slow due to his injury and old age. But finally, after months, he was able to function again. And after a while, it was like nothing had happen to him.

He still felt pain in his chest every now and then, but it wasn't so bad.

When they all left to go to the farm house, Splinter felt relaxed and at peace. They were finally leaving the city behind and getting the much deserved rest they needed. Hopefully the rest wouldn't be short lived.

Splinter now sat on the porch of the old farm house, watching the others in the grass. Ace's dogs laid by his feat sleeping. This was much better then the city, quiet and relaxing. No loud noises, other then jig's barking at the poor rosters.

Splinter looked over at Lexi with a warm smile. "How are you feeling today, Lexi?"

Post by Marley on Tue Apr 17, 2012 9:49 pm

The last seven months had been an extreme emotional roller coaster. Marley had been forced to relive her nightmares all over again. Once again, Remey had almost been taken from her, and she hadn't dealt with that too well. In fact, she had nearly grieved herself to death when the doctor told her that he would never make it. She had almost lost their child due to all the stress, but luckily the unborn child proved strong, just like its daddy.

From the moment she had arrived at the hospital on that dreadful night, Marley had refused to leave Remey's side. It was against hospital policy to let her stay 24-7, but given her condition, and fragile mental state, they made an exception for her. Thankfully he pulled through, but it tore out her heart when they told them that he probably wouldn't walk again. But, he was alive. That's what mattered most. She still had the love of her life; her best friend. It was a long recovery, but Remey had beaten the odds, and was even walking again! He had to use the aid of a cane, and Mar knew how much he hated it, so she would make a point to often tell him how sexy his 'woody' is, to lighten his mood about it.

Like Belle, she had been plagued with nightmares, and would often be woken by the sounds of her own screams. The memories of having to watch him be stabbed the first time he'd nearly been killed manifesting in her dreams. She hardly ever let him out of her sight, and was thankful that he had promised her that he would never return to the tower, or go up against the Foot again. It gave her some peace of mind, but it wouldn't stop the nightmares, and unfortunately she couldn't take anything for those, since she was now heavily pregnant. She wouldn't do anything to jeopardize their baby, who she had affectionately nicknamed 'The Rock'.. because that's what her tummy felt like. When she had her ultrasound done, she told them that she didn't want to know the baby's gender. She wanted it to be a surprise.

Mar was thankful for the solitude of the old farm house. It was just her kind of place. They were out in the sticks, and the country air was refreshing. On the days that 'Rock' didn't give her too much trouble, she would set out by the lake underneath a large willow tree. It was just so beautiful there.

Unfortunately this morning wasn't one of those good days. She felt sickly, and was sleeping in. She was once again plagued by nightmares, and was soon jolted awake. Her hand instantly reached for where Remey should have been sleeping... but he wasn't there. She started to panic, forcing herself up which was becoming a difficult task due to her large stomach. She winced at the discomfort as she got to her feet and shuffled out of the room...

Belle ran inside to look for Marley and caught her coming out of the bedroom. "Mommy! Want me to put flowers in your hair? Look daddy did my hair!" She said pointing to her own flowers.

She reached out for Mar's hand to drag her outside with her and Remey. "Daddy is outside."

Marley was relieved when Belle came running in, announcing that Remey was outside. "Ooooh, I love your hair." She smiled. "Yep.. I would love for daddy to do that for me, too!" She beamed, allowing Belle to tug her outside, sparing a sweet smile and a wave at Lexi and Splinter as they passed. It was a little difficult keeping up with the child in her very pregnant state, but she was anxious to join them... needing to be by Remey's side.

She slipped up behind him, carefully and very slowly kneeling down, and wrapping her arms around him, which, was a little difficult with her huge tummy. She pressed several kisses against his shoulders and the back of his neck and nuzzled him softly. "Mmm.. hey smexy." She breathed, and kissed him again. "How you feeling, Love?'

The last seven months had been trying for her friends, But Aeris hadn't felt this happy in a long time. She had fallen hard for Laz, which was scary at first since she was used to being emotionally hurt in relationships. But she couldn't help how she felt about him. He was the kindest, most selfless person she had ever met. Besides, it was time to love again. Time to take chances, and he was certainly worth the risks.

She had also found a job locally. Nothing too fancy, but she helped run a small country store a few miles away. She really liked the people here. Unlike the city, the country folks were more humble and polite. It was definitely a nice change of pace.

Aeris had grown close to all the others. Especially Seren, Marley.. and even Lexi. Though, she was a little jealous of the bond that Lexi would always have with Laz, but she knew they were friends. Best friends. She was okay with that, since both Lexi and Laz didn't seem like the types to cheat. She had made a few attempts to befriend Ally, but the girl was so withdrawn and reclusive. Probably grieving over Ace, but she wouldn't pry, knowing the girl wanted her space. She had grown attached to little Ivy, and the little girl had started calling her 'mommy'. It felt awkward at first, but she couldn't deny how flattered she felt. She loved the little girl like she was her own.

Thankfully she was off today, and was down by the lake, deciding to do a little fishing. It would help put food on the table, and with as many mouths as there were to feed, her resourcefulness definitely came in handy. She could also bow hunt, but would save that for another day.

As she baited her hook, she heard rustling in the large willow tree. She looked up to see Ally perched high in the branches, a notebook in her lap, and completely lost in thought. Aeris spared her a soft smile that would go unseen. Poor girl. This was how she often was, absorbed in her own little world. With an inward sigh, she continued to bait her hook and cast the line far out into the lake.

Over the past few months Leo did his best to keep trong for his family. But he was worried about Splinter and the others. But when everyone seemed to be making it out alright he finally relaxed. Splinter was walking around, Remey and Laz was ok and April was recovering.

His own wounds were minor and only left a little scaring.

He helped his family pick up things they needed from their lair and move everything to the farmhouse. He loved the farm house. It was so quiet and secluded. It was just what they needed.

He felt bad for poor Ally and tried to be there for her as much as possible, but it seemed that most of the time she wanted to be left alone. so now he was at the lake swimming. He tried to stay away from Aeris so as not to scare away her fish.

Post by Ally on Wed Apr 18, 2012 5:10 am

It had been a few months since Ally had last heard from Ace. He had promised to come back.. promised to keep in touch, but his calls had stopped all together. She had no way of knowing what had happened. Was he okay? Had he just decided that he didn't want to be with her anymore? Had he hooked up with someone else? Was he even alive?? It made her both sad and angry. Was she not worth two minutes of her time.. just to say goodbye?

For the most part, she had tried to stay out of everyone's way, because that's all she was, a burden to everyone. She had no real ties or bonds with anyone here.. everyone still had the loves of their lives, and could move past all the horrible stuff. Well...except for Leo. She sincerely appreciated his attempts to make her feel included, and not forgotten.. but she wasn't sure what she was feeling and was afraid of her instinctual way she had always found comfort in the past. She didn't want to hurt him that way.. but, if she had ever came onto him, would it be just that? Her needing comforting?? No. She felt there was something more there. She really adored the guy, and admired his kindness towards her.

It had been another sleepless night, and come early morning, Ally had made her way out to the large willow tree, perching high in the branches. Once again, she was attempting to write a letter to Ace, asking all the questions that needed to be answered, and thanking him for the short months that he had made her feel loved. No one had ever done that for her. But just like all the letters before.. she had no address in which to send it to.

She wiped at her tears as she angrily tore out the five pages of beautifully written feelings, wading them up and tossing them to the ground. This earned a deep frown from Aeris. She was going to keep quiet, but littering really got under her skin.

"You really shouldn't litter you know.." She gently scolded, as kindly as she could. But this only irritated Ally.

    "Bite me."

Hearing Aeris talking to someone, Leo looked over and up at the tree. There he saw Ally, he hadn't noticed her up there before, lost in his own little world. He swam over to the girls and got out of the water.

He picked up the paper that Ally tossed on the ground and looked up at Ally. "Mind if I join you?"

Ally's attitude was uncalled for, but Aeris suppressed the urge to snap back at her. The girl was hurting, she understood that. But the sooner that Ally realized that a guy that would just up and leave her like that wasn't worth her grief, the better off she would be. But whatever. She decided to pack up her gear and move to the other side of the lake. At least she would be too far away to be bothered by the girl's littering.

"Don't get mauled." She told Leo, and grabbed her stuff, moving away from the willow tree.

At first, Ally was hesitant to accept Leo's kind gesture, but she finally gave in to her need for some form of comfort.. some form of interaction. She leaned against him, resting her head against his shoulder. Though, she wasn't sure if she could talk about it or not.. but.. she really needed to get it off her chest. And Leo was the only one here she felt comfortable with. She took a deep breath, trying to get her emotions under control.

"Maybe it was too hard for him." Leo sugested."Have you tried calling Tabitha? Maybe she knows what's going on with him." Because honestly Leo was worried about Ace, he didn't seem like he would just leave Ally. It was definitely a good suggestion, but Ally felt that if something was wrong, Tabitha would have contact her... right? She was the girlfriend, after all. And the first that would need to know if something bad had happened. She just didn't feel comfortable dragging Tab into it if Ace had in fact decided to move on. But, all of this unknowing was eating her up inside.

"Yeah.. I guess I could call her." She agreed, wiping at quiet tears. "I just.. didn't want to start family drama. But, I need to know what's going on..."

"I think Tabitha will understand." Leo told her and gave her another light squeeze. Hopefully Tabitha would be able to put Ally's mind at ease. It pained Leo to see Ally upset like this.

He leaned over and pressed a soft kiss against her head.

"Indeed the fresh air has done wonders for those healing. I am doing well, just the every day aches and pains of an old rat."

Splinter smiled down at the little baby. "He's getting so big, soon we will be getting into everything." He teased.

Remey wrote:Remey smiled when Marley slipped behind him. He leaned into her arms and turned his head to kiss her. "I'm feeling alright. How are you doing?" He asked as he turned around and placed a hand on her stomach. "The little one giving you problems?"

Marley place a hand on the one he'd placed on her stomach, caressing his skin. After nearly losing him twice, she would never take one moment with him for granted. Not that she ever had. From the moment she had met him, Remey had been the grandest thing in her life. "I'm okay now.." She told him. Because now, he was within her sight. Within her touch.

"And yeah...Rock really wants out.." And as if on cue, the little one kicked, the noticeable 'bump' could be felt against Remey's palm. Mar snickered, but there was also a look of discomfort there that she masked behind a smile. "We still need to come up with names you know.. unless you just want to name him or her 'Rocky'!"

"Oh, he already is." Lexi grinned, and cradled Phoenix in her arms. "Heh... I'm sure it will be a million times worse when he completely masters the walking thing." She laughed.

Phin was still fighting sleep, but his little eyelids were just too heavy. He continued to suck on his thumb even as he finally drifted off. She leaned down and kissed the little turtle's forehead, still rocking him gently in her arms. "Whenever you're feeling up to it, I would love to hear stories of when Raph and his brothers were little." She smiled, hoping that he was feeling up to that now...
